Try finding the "How to Draw Manga" book series. It has a lot of tips that apply to any style, and should help. Also, consider studying anatomy from an appropriate source (a medical anatomy book or just sport magazines for muscles). Basically learning to draw is a matter of learning the shapes of the objects you wish to draw, and applying it to your own style. One way I help myself is to trace, believe it or not. Trace or copy a few pictures and alter them to your own taste, and it'll help you get the muscle memory and the experience of creating lines Also just remember that everything can be broken down into simple lines and shapes. Connect those easy things, rather than letting the big picture ovewhelm you. But most of all, just practice.

Good luck to you!

It is a good start for one that you have an interest in drawing.

And, I assume that by 'drawing anime' you mean drawing in a manga style.

I faced this myself a few years ago...

Well, practice is definitely the key.

You can forget learning all you need to know overnight, because that is not going to happen. To become a competent artist (yes, even in the sense of drawing, whether it's for a hobby or professional) requires time, so you can't rush yourself.

Don't get frustrated if your drawings don't work out, this is natural to the learning process.

Firstly it may be good to 'copy' from other anime or manga images. Not tracing. I found that this familiarises you with the general drawing style and will later help you as you try to configure your own style.

Next, it is a good idea to invest in something along the lines of 'a beginner's guide to manga/anime drawing' or something like that.

It is important that you keep practising and you WILL notice significant improvement in a matter of weeks as your skill improves...it can also be a good idea to get into a drawing course, to learn the basic skills that are essential if you doubt your current skills.

I'm sorry if this is not the quick and easy answer you've been hoping for, because according to my knowledge, there is none.

There is no easy way to become exceptionally good in drawing anime. Neither is there a single, "best" way to draw anime. You'll find that different mangakas employ different techniques or ways to draw, from the pen they love to use to how they view a perspective on stories and character outlines. As the saying goes, "Different strokes for different folks" XD! What may be the best way for you won't necessarily be the best for me. Many people might find that they can emulate a mangaka's style, but there is indeed a few others out there also who couldn't draw the way he/she did, no matter how hard they try to O.o. It's both a boon and bane. I suggest that you keep on at it - practice, practice, practice. Most budding-mangakas start by drawing a particular art from an anime they like (from what I see - others may not think this so XE). They pause the anime on the screen, and either capture it (if it's on the PC), or just hold the scene there and they draw. There are other mangakas or senior doujin artists that say that if what you draw is as similar to the original work (or almost that a casual fan could recognize it straight away), then we'd say you might as well have all the essentials to become an anime artist/mangaka XE. Eventually sometime sooner or later, you'll find your own unique stroke, that is to say, a definite drawing personality which becomes the basis outline of everything you draw. Last but not least, enjoy what you're doing and have fun! Hard for you become successful in drawing something if you loath both the art and the process of drawing it XE.

well i'm not bad at drawing anime so i hope i qualify for giving you tips based on my own experience...

be very observant when watching anime...i mean, take note of how the eyes are drawn, little details like the slant and the pupil and eyelashes. sketch it mentally. Eyes are the most important feature of anime.

grab a good manga and copy a character. tracing is not suggested.

KNOW what you are drawing. this sounds weird but i think it works for me. whenever i draw an original character i simultaneously conjure up a situation, background info, stuff like that. it makes the finished result look better.

repeat until satisfied! and there is no real "learning faster", each of us learn at our own pace. I only started drawing anime a year ago but i THINK im pretty good now. i only did what i enumerated above, no books or tutorials.

of course, it doesn't hurt to be addicted to anime...but i hope this helps! ^.^

As a lot of people would probably say, practice.

Bring a sketchbook everyday.
Try filling out a page everyday.
Listen to music. They help a LOT!
Find a favorite artist and "copy". The end result will never come out exactly like it anyway so don't worry about people saying you're a copycat.
"Copy" from different artists and mix up their styles.
Get inspired by movies, comcs and TV.
As for the faster... try to keep it as simple as possible. Fast drawings make fast learnings too.

Once you get to the point where you inspire yourself, then you become your self sufficient inspired drawing machine!

...hm. I bought a How to draw Manga kit,it helped me a little and there are a lot of them. I bought mine at Hastings in Auburn for $30...If you don't want to pay that much for one and can't find any cheeper than maybe you should look in some different book stores for "How to draw" books. If you know someone who can draw anime get them to give you some tips too.

Hmm...drawing takes a lot of practice...heck I've been drawing all my life, but I still draw like a third grader sometimes...^_^;;
But when I do, I keep practicing and practicing untill I got it to where I liked it.
There are books that help too. And try to practice by looking from a manga book and copying it from your eyes.
If this helps: Trace with tracing paper to see where what is and stuff...have fun with it. ^_^
Good luck!

Find some good lesson books or come up with your own style. Start by drawing manga before you work your way up to actual animation.
