Yes. Fish sleep too and since they don't have eye lids they have a very hard time getting a good nights sleep with the light on.

Yes. And turn is spelled with a u.
Fish sleep just like people. Also, the light heats up the water and might make it get too hot for the fish. Also, if you leave the light on too much you will get a bad case of nasty green or brown algae, and your tank might begin to smell bad.
If you have heavy shades and your room is dark during the day, you might be able to get away with leaving the lights off during the day and on at night. You can only do this if your room is dark during the day, though.

Yes. Fish will adapt, that is true. They do NOT need the light turned on at all. The light is for you, not them. Light rarely penetrates the water in nature as brightly as it does in a fish tank. When the light is on the fish are living in a spotlight!

Temperature is a concern with leaving the light on, but the potential for algae blooms is also MUCH greater if you leave the tank light on 24/7. If you want to make things ideal for the fish, put the tank lights on a timer that has the day start and end for them on a schedule. You can also seasonably adjust that timer schedule so that days are longer in the summer and shorter in the winter since that's how it works in nature.

Turning the light off at night will make things easier on your fish, easier on your water quality, and easier on your tank upkeep. If you have plants then you can watch and see how they react if you are not giving them at least a full days worth of light. Good luck!

Yes, the light should be cut off. I keep a Siamese Fighting Fish in my room and his light goes out at night. Not only does the light affect their sleep but it could also warm the water if left on for long periods of time.

Yes, light puts algee (green stuff) on the sides of the tank, and it looks bad plus it harms ur fish.

Yes, you should..In research I have found that turning off the lights allows the fish to rest at night, so that you can enjoy them being active during the daytime and will be better for you to enjoy. altho you did say they were in your room, I would still recommend turning it off..

Yes you should. You should because the water in the fish tank to get over heated from being in the light too long. And you can wear out the light bulb quickly. See the light bulb tends to get extremely hot, and the water has to be at the right temp. so you don't want to water to get over that temp.

Yes, you should tUrn off the lights. fish don't have eyelids, so the only way for them to get any "sleep" is when it is near completely dark.
