traffic ticket, it goes on their record, not yours because THEY were driving. My neighbor thinks differently, she said that because it was YOUR car, YOU are responsible for any and all actions taken by the driver..I say shes way wrong..Her reasoning does not make sence!

So I decided to take it to the masses and get a response...

Driver gets the ticket

I was in my car which is in my parents name and got a ticket. I was responsible for the ticket because I was the one driving the car. If you get into an accident in someone elses car, I believe they are responsible.

The ticket is given to the driver not the owner. But if I'm not mistaken if it is a accident and the car is uninsured it can come back on you too for lending out an uninsured car.

It's your plate number on the ticket so it falls on you. If the person you lent the car to is a friend though, they will pay the ticket but it still shows on your driving record.
