It's easy to wash and dry, last's longer, is cheaper than silks etc. Polyamide is actually a posh name for nylon.

Because this fabric is light, flexible, soft, resistant,easy to wash, cheaper than natural fabrics (cotton, linen, silk) and easy to dye.
