also i heard that a baby will only be engaged for about 6 weeks before he is ready to come, is that true? i have never heard that before....
and last week my Dr said i was 4/6 ( 4 from 6) do you know what that means by any chance, because i wouldnt have a clue...

hi, i know how your feeling girl. To keep myself comfortable ive been getting in the pool and just letting myself relax. Also lay down on your side with a few pillows supporting you. Also when you have a shower turn your back towards the water and let the warm/hot water hit your back.
Also the thing about 4/6. My midwife told me I was 4/5 at my last checkup so maybe its kinda the same thing. Ive been told that it means something about the babies head moving further down into the pelvis.....
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy :)

OH My I feel for you. I so remember those days. In fact my hip pain still hasn't gone away and the baby is 6 m. I went 39w with a scheduled c-section for my last one. BUT I did have the same problem with the pregnancy before that. 41w emergency c-section. I had to see a chiropractor or a sports massage therapist to get my hip fixed. I also had some problems with my 13 and 14 vertibre. As soon as you have the baby make an appt about a month after and get a good massage, making sure you mention you need it mainly in that area. It should help plus we all know that we deserve it. FOR now you can place a pillow between your knee's to help ease the pain or here's the crazy part but it works....you can sleep partially sitting up in a reclining chair. IT will take the pressure off the hip too. I too have a about to turn 3 yr old NOV 2 so I know what its like to chase a toddler and be big and pregnant. They keep you on your toes don't they. Happy early birthday to your little guy and safe delivery and congratulations to you on your soon to be arrival.

4/6? no clue about that, ask him about it. But engagement can happen anywhere from 8 weeks to hours before birth. The real sign is if your cervix is dialating... I know it is tough bein 36 weeks, espeacially if you have a slender body like me, i had to have a c-section cause i was to small for the baby, even though the baby was only 6lbs 8 oz and i am 5'5" 135lbs normally. I was walikng around and it felt and looked like i was carying twins, it was all excess water. And it was heavy, just strech and breath, you'll get through it. Good luck with your new little one, it will soon be in your arms.

These are not silly questions but I would like to know is this your first pregnancy? Have you called your doc about the cramps you are having because they may be contractions. Do they come and go? I am not sure what 4 from 6 is, but it sounds like he is talking about your cervix and how much it is effaced. I would call your doc just to make sure. I would lay down on you left side. Put a pillow under your side, in between your legs and prop up your back. Relax you are almost there! Good Luck, IM me with any questions if you like.

I never heard that the baby will only be engaged for six weeks. Ask your doctor what 4/6 means by your next checkup. Honestly I never heard of that before.

Don't know about four from six, but my suggestion on getting comfortable is to get down on your hands & knees, and round your back up . . . it "unstretches" your muscles from how they've been. You can also get a beanbag chair, kneel in front of it, and lean forward into it. It also works almost as well to kneel in front of the sofa, and rest your arms & chest on the seat.
