"A man is taking a walk in Central park in New York. Suddenly he sees a little girl being attacked by a pit bull dog . He runs over and starts fighting with the dog. He succeeds in killing the dog and saving the girl's life. A policeman who was watching the scene walks over and says: "You are a hero, tomorrow you can read it in all the newspapers: "Brave New Yorker saves the life of little girl" The man says: - "But I am not a New Yorker!" "Oh ,then it will say in newspapers in the morning: 'Brave American saves life of little girl'" – the policeman answers. "But I am not an American!" – says the man. "Oh, what are you then? " The man says: - "I am a Saudi !" The next day the newspapers says: "Islamic extremist kills innocent American dog."

i thought it was funny, but indeed sad that we have come down so low as to stereotype all middle eastern people as terrorists. I know it's because of 9/11 but still-there's no right in stereotyping them and feeling uncomfortable around them because of that. Do two wrongs really make a right?

The original joke, pertaining to a child from Tennessee but visiting his cousin in Alabama, and having pretty much the same story line, was funnier. Then again, I am partial to jokes on us. We can take having fun poked at us. That's a sign of intelligence. Nothing about Islamic extremists is funny. Nothing.

That is funny! LOL

their is alot of truth to it, but id be careful about suring islamic websites, ever since the patriot act came out even white Christans arent safe.

Compare the salme witchcraft tirals to the McCarthy Communist witchunt to the Bush hunt for islamic extremists who are everyday patriotic americans....think about it

I must admit...that is funny, yet sadly it sounds like CNN! (we-Australia get heaps of our news stuff from U.S. sources anyway) ...honestly it is a judgement call if it would make it into say USA Today etc. It is **only** touching on the subject of the western media and not degrading our society etc, and that's about it...nothing really major. It would definitely make it in our papers here. I'd consider it definitely printable in the mass media. It does illustrate a good point though. (-:

Sounds like a slight variation on the old story about the rabbi who saved Hitler's life, and as a reward, said "For heaven's sake don't tell anyone!"

Bitterly dark humor, I'm afraid---but this is the sort of thing that holds a mirror up to our prejudices, and perhaps will force us to confront them....

The joke highlights how the media might twist the truth, just because of someones ethnic origin. The dog was hardly innocent.

I think it is clever & probably true. our media twists everything according to their own agenda -- usually more to the left though. Unfortunately, it is easy to judge people & make fun of them if they are in certain groups. It is not just Middle Easterners, but southerners are portrayed to be inbred, rednecks; norhterners are said to all be rude & uncaring; blacks are treated like unintellegent thugs; Christians are said to be judgmental and hateful. None of these apply to each member of that group, but people think it is fun to hurt others.

if this was found on an islamic website, then it's pure propaganda. they have shown themselves to be violent extremists by their own actions (which speak far louder than the hollow words they speak).
