Hi All

I am 15wks pregnant and for a few weeks now i have been experiencing a headache most days - also my temperature is a bit high at these times (not dangerously high - my forehead is just warm to touch.)

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it to do with the pregnancy?

Thanks in advance!

i had migraines through my entire pregnancy...doctors say that they get better with pregnancy but they are full of it...pregnancy headaches are common...just as long as they are not followed by high blood pressure, dizziness and things of that nature...if this is happening, see your OB/GYN asap

as for the regular headaches, talk to you OB/GYN...there are a few meds out there that can help relieve the pain, mostly on the really bad headaches...these meds wont hurt the baby if they are used in moderation

I am 24 weeks pregant with my second child and through this pregnancy I have had headaches all day every day. When I was preganat with my 10 month old daughter I did not have headaches.Headaches are common during pregnancy. With some pregnancys the headaches go away and with some they do not go away. All pregnancys are different.

You should definately consult with your doctor any time that you have a concern. Even if it is a simple one, that is what they are there for. A lot of times a headache during pregnancy can be caused by a lack of protein and vitamin b. Eat a big juicy steak and see if it helps! I got that advice from my doctor and it worked...unfortunately it meant that I was needing some additional vitamin supplements, but that was easy to take care of. Lots of green veggies! Good luck to you!

First of all -- CONGRATS!

I also experienced very bad headaches around week 15 that lasted for a couple of weeks. Alot of times tyelnol would not even touch them. I contaced my doctor and she said I could blame all the wondeful hormones going on in my body. Just try to drink LOTS of water and get plenty of rest.

Headaches are normal, but Migranes and fever are not... They may be signs of an infection, you may have a bladder infection which can lead to a kidney infection, not a fun thing. Please see your doc. he's the only one who can tell you if your really okay. I get bladder infections often, and dont even know it untill my piss test shows it. Oh well. Oh also i got a yeast infection at 14 weeks, i didnt have any signs of that iether, my doc just called up and said take thses meds. Many of the infections can get worse faster in pregancny because of your already slighly elevated body temp(should still be 98.6-100.00, normal for prego) Just see your doc, and drink cranberry juice it has most times helped me kick an infection in the butt.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or
neck. Headaches can becaused by minor problems like
eyestrain, lack of coffee or moreserious reasons like
head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis andmeningitis.
Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Headaches are "normal" because of the increasing blood flow in your system (fatigue is normal as well). However, if you have a fever, take a cool bath and call your doctor because fevers can be a serious problem to your developing fetus. ("warm to the touch" is NOT accurate - use a thermometer!)

Have your blood pressure checked for pre-eclampsia. Also a urine test to rule out gestational diabetes. Have you ruled out ectopic pregnancy? Once you're sure that the major stuff isn't a problem, you could just be dehydrated. It's pretty common to get headaches in pregnancy.

Headaches during pregnancy are normal due to all of the hormones but I would talk to your doctor because it seems like you are having them a little to often.

my advice would be to drink plenty of water also snack of dry buscuits because it helps with nausea and headaches.
oh and when you stand up try not to do it too fast as you could black out that also happened to me and it's not that pleasent....
