It seems to me that the cons are trying to find every opportunity to escape from the quagmire they have created in Iraq. They want to leave our military high and dry. Isn't this just typical? Blame somebody else for their failures.

The republican campaign ads rarely mention Iraq recently. Are they hiding from something?

Depends on what you think they are "cutting and running" from - common decency, basic human rights, a sense of responsibility to the troops, etc. Cons are "cutting and running" from all of these. But, heaven forbid we should "cut and run" from Iraq.

Bush has said we will "stand down when they stand up". Now he says no troop reductions until after 2010. He must have a pretty poor impression of his puppet Iraqi government and the American troops training their military. Basic training in this country takes 2-3 months. In Iraq, I guess, it'll take 5 or 6 years.

As for truckman's eloquent response, I can't imagine why Democrats would want to redeploy troops to suppress a nation that actually HAS nuclear weapons and intercontinental missiles. The sheer NERVE of these people wanting to address a nation that is actually a THREAT to the US.

Cut and run is just a buzz phrase and totally inappropriate for what is now exactly like the Tet Offensive in the Viet Nam war.

"cut and run" is a term karl rove has inspired. It is best swallowed with kool aid. it simply means you disagree with the way this war was started or is being conducted. nothing more.
