One job, a guy tries to get me to do his work.
Another one, he asked who hired me.....
Another one, he didn't like my style
Another one thought I was a piece of ****

Yet, I have great references, is generally well-liked and talked about positively in my jobs. I also have a decent resume. Why is this?

Is that just "life"?

Do you remember when you were at school, i bet there were kids there who just total sh.its.
Well surprise surprise they grew up too.
And now they're total sh.its as adults as well.
I'm afraid it's just the way of the world. Just learn to fight back or move on to another job.

Unfortunately yes that is life. No matter where you go there is always going to be someone who doesn’t like you. Only in a perfect world would everyone get along and not everyone is nice enough to put on a smiley face and keep their opinions to their selves. The best thing to do when you don’t agree with something someone says about you is to smile say thank you and pray that God will fix whatever is wrong in their life.

Just a part of the human condition. One tends to be a threat to others. Either you work too hard, or know too much, or have too much potential. Doesn't really matter, but somewhere, somewhen, some other idiot is going to feel threatened, and instead of dealing with it in a responsible manner (like say, improving themselves), they will attack you personally.
It is a reflection on how childish they are, not you

Every job has one, it's just that simple. The important thing is that you stick up for yourself and don't let them get away with it.

Every job you work at will have at least one person who dedicates his life to his job, one person who tries to bully people, and one person who can't be fired no matter what he or she does. At my job the last two are combined into one annoying b**ch. Fortunately I outrank her and won't allow her to bully me.

Life happens. The trick is not to allow people to walk on you. Put them in their place the first time they step out of line

Well, I guess the question is not for us, but for you. You must be honest with yourself and determine if all these guys are bad or they have some piece of reason.

The problem is, there are really lazy and mean people in life. We all have different personalities. We all have to deal with it.

there is always an a**hole in every crowd and looks like you always run into them. Best thing to do is stand your ground and don't take crap from none of them.
