Hello, I am not sure how much I can help, but I will try.
My best advice is to go and ask the adult in the house or call a friend.
Also there is a website, i think that it is called askdrmath.com - if this is not the site do a search for ask dr math. You can ask a math related question and skilled math professionals will answer your question (you will not get any mean answers if you ask on this site). Remember that there are no "dumb" questions!

that depends on what x is...
square roots are asking "what number times itself equals the numberunder the square root symbol"
for example...square root (sqrt) 1 = 1 or -1 because 1*1 =1 and -1 *-1 =1
sqrt 4 = 2 or -2 because 2*2 = 4 and -2 * -2 = 4
sqrt 9 = 3 or -3 because 3*3 = 9 and -3 * -3 = 9
sqrt 16 = 4 or -4 because 4*4 = 16 and -4 * -4 = 16
sqrt 25 = 5 or -5 because 5 * 5 = 25 and -5 * -5 = 25
hope that helps
