I'm planning on getting the PS3, but my HDTV (1080i resolution) is an old one and has no HDMI port. Would I still be able to play games at 1080i and if so, what HDMI cable is needed?

Thats odd to have DTV has no HDMI port, well best thing you can do is use Component video( the blue green red cables), I use that for my xbox 360, It's great, using the Component video you are able to get 1080i resolution. but I recommand get monster cable, expensive but worth it when you gonna use it for PS3

You need to have it in order to get the higher hd quality. I pre-order 2 PS3 the $599.99 model cant wait to play it.

Dude get a life. sorry but it had to be said. do you work? if so why in anyones right mind would want to shell out 6 big ones for a video game system and dont forget games, tax, and a second controller. dont you have a girlfriend who takes all your money like a normal person? Even if your rich dont you have other hobbies that take up a lot of your income too? 600 is not alot but there a hell of alot of better things i would rather do with that money. and im a game fanatic!!!!
