Two numbers are additive inverses if they add up to 0.

In general n + (-n) = 0

Since there exists a number -n for every integer n, every integer has an additive inverse.

To find the number n that is it's own additive inverse:
n + n = 0
2n = 0
n = 0

Zero is its own additive inverse.

1•1=1. (-1)(-1)=1. So 1 and -1 are their own multiplicative inverse.
