I could not understand the service rep from Citi-mortgage today.I have decided to refinance with another mortagage company because of the time it took to try to get a answer.I never did and had to go to my bank to verify payments were made as I directed.I felt very uncomfortable giving my social security number to a person living in a country with such poverty and corruption as India has.Why do companies think outsourcing is going to keep customers? They lost me.

I am tired of outsourced EVERYTHING. We have all the resources, people, climate and money to be self sufficient. We need to be an isolationist nation.

There are several benefits for a global company to outsource customer service, especially to India. First of all, it's true one benefit is to save a buck, but 50 cents of that gets passed down to the client possibly causing lower interest rates and lower fees. Second, the wages required to pay a representative to work an over-night shift is exponentially higher compared to an Indian representative working that same shift during the same time, which is actually their daytime hours, allowing cost effective 24-hour customer service. Finally, there is ****ALWAYS**** an American representative waiting to speak with you, all you have to do is ask, do not hesitate, ever.

*****HEY MortgageGuy, I really hope you don't seriously believe that Citibank is owned by Saudi Arabia. The idea alone of a successful American business that does business primarily in America can be owned by a foreign *country* is... ludicrous.

The main thing to note is that technically, Citi bank is not an american company..

Citi bank jsut as chase bank are owned by Saudi Arabia.. Most of the bug retail banks in america are not owned by american companies...

So technically they are not outourcing..

I know exactly what you mean though... I cannot stand talkin got somoene that doenst understand our language..

Motorola is really bad about this.. All of their call centers are in India...

terrible, but its life...

Also, if we wanted jobs to stay in this country, then maybe allowing immigrants from mexico isnt a bad idea.. These people will take the jobs that no one in america will..

Let me ask you, are you willing to be a customer service rep making $5 or less per hour???

I didnt thin\k so, this is why they do it..

Its not just because the save money, AMERICANS WONT TAKE A JOB LIKE THAT... THEY WANT MONEY$$ THESE TYPES OF JOBS CANNOT PAY ENOUGH MONEY TO MAKE AN AMERICAN HAPPY..

So, unless you want highschool american kids takin gthese calls, learn to deal with the people from india.. at least some of them are intelligent, may not speak great english, but smarter then the high school kids that would take these positions...

I think they are more interested in saving a buck than worrying about keeping the customers that got them where they are. Not my idea of good business sense, but hey what do I know.

Its horrible!!! I agree! But it is not gonna change any time soon...companies are more interested in saving a few bucks then keeping their customers. half the time they have a really thick accent or they cannot speak really good english!
