ok so in my english class i was told to write an essay about my hero, so i picked Jesus Christ.
In english class we learned that a 'hero' is some one that:
1: gets a call to action, search for spritual/physical goal.
2: goes through tests and trials, descent into darkness, abyss or dreaded place.
3: is transformed, not the same after return from darkness, new found wisdom/becomes stronger.
4:The Return, to the world/hunamity/community/and brings a gift.
So, how would JC fit into these four stages of a Hero?

Definitely.
The call to action was the need to redeem Mankind from sin and reconcile us to God. Romans 3:23
The tests and trials were those from the devil, from his followers, and from the authorities and torturers. Ultimately He went into the grave, the ultimate dark and dreaded place. Matthew 4:1, Mark 14:66-71, Luke 22 and 23, and John 19.
The transformation was His ressurrection and ascention into Heaven as a life-giving spirit. Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 21, and 1st Corinthians 15:45.
The gift is to free us all of our slavery to sin. 1st John 2.
Good for you that you are presenting the story of Jesus to your classmates! You may catch some flak from the rest of the world for doing so, but believe me (better yet, believe Jesus -- Matthew 5:11-19), God will reward you!

1.... he is born and knows from an early age that he is here to die and pay for the sins of man kind. He went into the Garden of Gethsemane to ask God for strength to do what he had to do.
2.....he was in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights without food or water. gets hung on the cross and dies.
3....he rises from the dead and joins his father in heaven after 3 days and knows that there is nothing worse that can happen to him than has already happened. He knows he gave the ultimate sacrifice for his fellow mankind.
4....he has brought us the promise of ever lasting life. We now know that he will come again and bring peace and ever lasting life with him.
I hope that is what you were looking for. It is how I see things anyway.

Most definitely and even if He, or even someone elses hero didn't fit into the "steps of being a hero" nobody can say what has to happen for someone to be a hero, it's different for everyone.

duh! he died 4 our sins! he died 4 us!!!he gave us the gift of life!!! He was called to die for us in our place!!! he was transformed to a person to die for us from spirit. he went through so many trials. if you want to read about them, read the four gospels: matthew, mark, luke, and john. His biggest trial was when he was mocked and hit then nailed to the cross for us!
