I'm not a huge fan of Stephen King but have read the first 4 Dark Tower books and enjoyed them. I found the first book very hard to get through though and heard of others with the same opinion so don't let that put you off the second and subsequent books are much better. They do lean towards fantasy so if that's not your thing......

Yes. Stephen King has been writing for over 40 years and with 800 million novels in print. He can't be beat. The Dark Tower series. 1. The Gunslinger 2. Drawing of the Three 3. The Wastelands 4. Wizard and Glass 5. Wolves of Calla 6. Song of Susannah 7. The Dark Tower. One great story in seven novels. The last three have so many pages, they come in two volumes. Several years back Stephen king got hit by a van while jogging. He got all kinds of email with people wondering if he was ever going to finish the series. He not only finished the series. He Incorporated his accident into the series. Over 20 years in the making, so they were started long before all the "puff series" that are out now. <}:-})

The entire series is stunning. Real escapism.
The majority of Stephen Kings works are excellent, but try his short stories as well. One in particular, The Body, was made into an excellent movie with River Phoenix, called Stand By Me.
The Dark Tower series is not hard going, unlike IT or The Stand, which take a bit more concentration.

I like them better than most of the carp Stephen King writes. But I have only read the first 4? I didnt know he had even written more, I've been living in a cave for years.
The only really good book he has written ins the Green Mile.

The Dark Tower is a favorite of Steven King fans
I started it but found it very hard to follow...it is a switch up from the other books...more of a fantasy
If you got the time I would go for it

I don't know. I do know that the first book in the series in hardback, first edition, first printing is selling for $375 today, even though Stephen King is still alive.

My mom loves all of stephen kings works. I've never read it but what I would do is go to the library and check out the first one. If you like it, get them, if you don't, you've saved money.
