One of my pc's processor has been running around 77-99 % and the taskmanager says that explorer.exe is using up most of it.

I am not able to access much of anything and the pc is sluggish. I have done a search and found no explorer.exe in any folder except windows, so I do not suspect this to be a trojan or worm problem that has replaced my explorer.exe.

I have run spybot, adaware, ewido and hijackthis and also Norton security. They all come up clean. I know I can't shutdown the process exlorer.exe as it it my graphical interface shell. I'm not sure now what to do to stop it from using up most of my processor.

Anyone else ever have this problem and solved it? Thanks

I have to admit your problem is pretty strange. Steven is right. You can kill the explorer.exe process. Here is a tweak which adds stability to the Windows operating system. Open any explorer window, on the menu bar, go to Tools > Folder Options > select the "View" tab > scroll down to "Launch folder windows in a separate process" and check it > [Apply] > [O.K.] > Reboot. This tweak separates the folder windows processes and allows you to kill one of them without affecting the others.

Actually, you CAN shut down the explorer.exe process. Once it's shut down, it just restarts itself again. If it DOESN'T, then you know you have a problem that'll require reinstalling Windows. But you CAN kill explorer.exe - after which I recommend restarting the computer to make sure it comes up clean.

Try running an on line scanner - you definitely have enough security it seems if not a little overkill some of those could be conflicting. Good Luck!

you have a virus on your pc.
If you find a program by the name of exploer.exe running on your computer, your system may have been infected with a worm that goes by the name of gaobot.bv.

exploer.exe is considered to be a security risk, not only because antivirus programs flag gaobot.bv worm as a virus, but also because a number of users have complained about its performance.

You need to find glufxaoa.dll and elete it. It should be in the system32 file

Sounds like you have a hitchiker and you need to just get a Mac and all your troubles go away.
