Sad. Because when Algernon Dies, Charlie thinks the same thing will happen to him. Because he did some Research. So Later, Charlie loses all of his IQ and he dies afterwards.

A theme is a lesson you can learn about life. I think the theme would relate to changing who you are to please other people.

lol i dont remember i read that at the beginning of my 8th grade year but it was long and boring wasnt it about the man was mentally slow and they put him in a race with mice?

yeah this story is sad....

i think it's that even science can't "fix" all problems.....

also, that alzheimer's is a horrible disease....
