Not me, but I know a guy that has his windshield smashed at least 20 times a year because people find out he's gay.
Sometimes I feel like I have absolutely no faith in humanity anymore.

Fortunately, no.
As an adult I've been mildly sexually assaulted by straight men on two occasions, but in both instances it was clear that they seriously misjudged both my interest level, and the meaning of the word NO.
Friends and I had a conversation about WHEN you come out to yourself, and how it seems to impact us. Among my queer friend group, those who came out to themselves in high school or earlier had a much harder time than those of us who figured things out in university or later. The ones who realized their queerness at a younger age found high school hard to deal with, and internalized a lot of the homophobia.
A lot of that process of internalizing all the crap messages about gays and lesbians, was for the purpose of protecting themselves from harrassment and assaults. (Though this isn't always realized at the time.)
By 'buying into' the idea that straight is better, or the idea that showing any sterotypically gay/lesbian behaviour is bad, some queer youth are able to 'control' their behaviour and monitor their talk so they can 'pass' as straight and avoid being attacked. I don't really blame them. But when you're older and it's maybe safer, it's still hard to unlearn all that negativity and secretiveness, and to develop a positive gay identity to support good self esteem.
I hope someday it will be safe enough for people that no one will need to internalize the hate so they can police themselves into seeming straight, just to protect themselves.....

Yeah, I've ben attacked a couple of times, of course that fact that I can fight helped out alot the first time, the second time, well, bashers back off really quickly looking down the wrong end of a gun barrel. I'm crazy, not stupid. I won't let anyone try to hurt me or those I care about. That's one of the reasons I don't put up with the verbal bashers here, there is always someone who will believe their lies. You can be respectful or you can be gone. Your choice.

Yes. Back in H.S. I was thrown down, tackled would be a better term, and kicked and bashed. My glasses were broken and shattered and cut my face. My nose ran blood all over my face and cloths and the tears from my eyes made the blood drip even more onto everywhere I walked. Of course, when I reported it, the jocks who did it to me all witnessed that I simply tripped and fell against the lockers. After all, it was a home game week for football.
My best friend and his boyfriend were bashed in Michigan two weeks ago walking outside a gay bar.

My answer doesn't compare to the other answers listed and can only hope they are doing ok now that the body has healed.
Was in a police raid on a gay bar years ago and was roughed up by the cops-just bruises on body but mentally it's still with me.

I've been assaulted six times for being a transsexual. And that hurts just as bad. But i've never been assaulted by a woman. Not even verbally.

Once, I was walking through the mall, and kissed my girlfriend just a peck on the lips..nothing serious or graphic and a little boy walked up and asked why I had kissed her, I knelt down to the child and said "Beacuse I love her."
Nothing odd or freaky, and as I explained that yes, girls can and do love other girls, his father walked by, and purposefully spilled hot coffe on my neck and shoulders called me a "Pedophile lesbian b*tch" and grabbed his son up and tore out of there...the guard later arrested him, the coffee place made me and my girlfriend free cups of whatever we wanted, and the sharper image gave me a thing to keep my neck cold, so I wouldn't burn as badly. I was very impressed with the way the mall security and staff handeled the situation with out ever makeing a judgement about our sexuality. and I got free coffe out of it, bully for me.

Nope, not personally.
I have, though, witnessed a good friend be beaten up for coming out of a gay bar...and he was NOT gay!
He was there helping to celebrate his gay brother's birthday, there were about twenty of us at the celebration and my friend and I left early because we had other commitments. A group of drunken rednecks jumped out of a car and started kicking and beating my friend while I called for police on my cell and banged on the bar's windows to get their attention...
A crowd of people poured out of the bar, but were only able to catch one of the assailents. He was held and then arrested by police when they showed up....TWENTY MINUTES LATER!
My friend suffered a concussion, a broken hand, three broken ribs and a damaged liver & kidney.
Thankfully charges WERE filed and justice served, but it doesn't help that my friend was called a slew of anti-gay epithets and insults while being beaten.
It was a matter of perception....he was simply seen walking out of a gay bar and assumed to be gay.
THIS IS WHY GAY HATE CRIMES LAWS NEED TO BE PUSHED!

They've tried, but it didn't go well for them. I am a firm believer in bashing the bashers. Ahem ahem .... naturally only acting within the legal limits of self-defense cough cough....
edit
Indy T has the right idea. Learn to fight, pack heat, or both. Right on man.
