try looking at your counties website. sometimes they have public records online, but i doubt they will have birth certificates, you will probably have to fill out a request form and pay for a new bc.

Probably such a site does not exist. For some site to have the image available to show on screen, someone will have had to scan it. I doubt ANY county will take the time to scan everyone's old birth certificates. Imagine how many that would be.

If you are not familiar with the scanning process, it is much like photocopying, only slower. Someone would have to feed the originals to the scanner. Then the originals would have to be filed, again.

The potential employer may have to be satisfied with an online record of your birth. Contact the county registrar, or county clerk where you were born, to find out if they have those records online. Even in this modern time, they might not have taken the time to enter in all that data.

Won't the employer accept your driver's license?

I would be more than surprised to see a website where you could see your birth certificate. But you might try typing in "birth certificates". Otherwise, you're just going to have to do it the old fashioned way - get it from the hospital you were born in, or maybe from your local courthouse.

A birth certificate it seems, is not proof of identity !! Anybody can send for your birth certificate providing they furnish sufficient information and send a cheque for £7.00. I understand that the only `sure` proof of identity is your passport.

If they are stupid enough to accept a birth certificate online they're stupid enough to take you on without one.
