to the people that answered that they are both democrat and God believers, how do you feel about wanting to remove intelligent design theories in the class rooms, ten commandments off court walls, and the nativity scene being removed from the public?

I'm a Catholic and Democrat. I think it's a complete waste of time and money to remove all references to God and religion from Government and its subsidiaries. Not because i think the references need to stay, but because I don't think that they are HURTING anyone. All of that stuff is Grandfathered in so to speak, leave it alone. If the people vote not to do anymore in the future, then fine, I won't dispute it. But changing everything with references that came before? That's freakin' ridiculous! You know what I mean?

I guess I dont qualify to answer that question, since I am
neither, but religion and gov should be separate. God can
be construed as mother nature or anything else you want,
but the ten commandments is particular to specific religions
and should not have anything to do with the gov.
I have nothing against other peoples beliefs and if they want to
have a nativity scene or some other nonsense like Santa Claus
and his reindeer or the Easter Bunny, just keep it out of our
Government.

Will I am a christian ANd I dont think that those things should be removed however, I canm see why some do believe they should be. The first settlers came to America it was to escape Religous prosecution. This was suppose to be a country of freedom.. freedom to everything religon included. Now I will agrue this reason also. If we do have the freedom of religon then why do those things need to come down and be hiden it is our freedom to leave those in places we want right.
Anyways I know that was confussing But I am not sure how I feel about this subject

You are being dishonest again.
remove intelligent design theories in the class rooms - science classrooms. Courses on religion can teach it no problem
ten commandments off court walls - yep, if there is nothing else there.
nativity scene being removed from the public - public property.
Just keeping you honest.

In school, religion should not be imposed since there are not only Christian children out there.
But the commandments are too important and should be kept on the court walls. Nativity scenes should be kept in public views as long as holidays of other religions are recognized.

Those are all good ideas that support the separation of church and state, which the US was founded upon. Religion should have no say, and not be represented, in state-sponsored activities.
A better way to think of this is to go in the opposite direction and be inclusive of ALL instead of feeling "slighted." I perform with a chorus that does a holiday concert with Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Soltice, and many other types of seasonal music. Everyone in the audience gets something out of it.

For true believers having the symbols of your religion around lend it credibility if the government allows though symbols to be displayed on its property .
In a few more generations man will no longer have christian religions but evolve beyond the God /Man fear of death thing .

I'm shocked.
The Democrats answered about how they believe in a God.
But, the Democrats are on here all the time saying how they hate Christians and Jews. Democrats especially hate Christians.
Does this mean that Democrats are all Muslims?
That explains why they care so much about how we treat terrorists.

Because I believe in separation of church and state. There are many who believe in god but not necessarily be Christian (jewish, muslims, and hindus). Are we going to put on their religous symbols on becuase they believe in god as well? I'm a christian but I don't believe in enforcing my religion on somebody else, what good is going to do? It's not going make people more religious or convert.

I am not a Dem, but and I do beleive in god.....however...this nation was founded on freedom of religion and the seperation of chruch and state....so I do not think that in public schools kids should be taught anything to do with a specific religion, like creationism....if you want that send them to church school....I don't think that 10 commandments need to be posted on gov. buildings....seperation of Church and state is a big part of what this country was founded on....it is not right for me to try and force my beliefs on others who don't belevie the same things....
