You don't say who your carrier is.
Cingular has a website you go to and pick ring-tones from. They are sent directly from Cingular to your phone via text message to download withOUT having to have a cable to run to your computer. The nominal charges are then added to the next month's phone bill making a credit card unnecessary.
If you don't have Cingular, you need to find out if your carrier has a website like the one Cingular has and how it works.
