Area 1 20x20 = 400 Square feet
Area 2 30/10=300 Square feet

Total area to be painted = 700 Square feet.

No Dana does not have enough paint since each can only covers 300 square feet. (300x2=600sqft of paint coverage) Dana is short paint for 100 square feet

I'm confused. I think by 20 x 20 and 30 x 10 you mean the length and width, so I'll go by that.

20 x 20 = 400 square feet
30 x 10 = 300 square feet

400 + 300 = 700

A can covers 300. So more than 2 cans will be required.

Dana THINKS both areas will take the same amount of paint. But is that really true. You have to comfirm that by looking at how big each area is. Area is length times width. So 30 x 10 and 20 x 20 will give you the areas. If they're equal then yes she's right. If not then no she won't have enough paint.

Hint- Dana doesn't know how to multiply.

The first area is 20x20 which equals 400 square feet. The second area is 30x10 which is 300 square feet. YOu have 700 square feet total that you have to paint, and only 600 square feet of paint to do it. So no you would need 3 cans of paint.

the first area will cover 400ft sq the other will cover 300 ft sq.
the total area is 700 sq ft.

If one can covers 300 sq ft then 2 cans will only cover 600 sq ft

Thus 2 cans will not be sufficent as there will be another 100 sq ft worth of paintwork left undone

For squares: Area = side X side (so 6 X 6 = 36 for A) Perimeter = side X 4 (8 X 4 = 36 for C) So square A is 6cm on a side Square B is 36cm on side (given) Square C is 8cm on a side
