Um...do you want an honest opinion?

It sounds like a grandma's name. I love my dear departed grandma dearly, but I'm not naming my kid Berniece. What was Agnis' middle name?

I don't think you should be asking people on Yahoo, what you should name your child.

Personally I hate that name, it sounds way too old fashioned. But you know what? This is your baby, the one you will give birth to. I'm not giving birth and neither is the next fool who answers this question. Do what you want despite what anybody on here says. But you also have to keep in mind, what will your child be like? Will she be an "Agnis" Or maybe she'll be a "Makenzie" or an "Allison" or even a "Golden" or something weird. Maybe Agnis is better as a middle name, or a nickname? All I'm saying is keep your mind open, have several names picked out, all with different feelings to them, some funs ones, some smart ones, so that you can pick the perfect one for your little girl.

I love it. I think naming people after people that you care about is awesome, it means much more than what the name 'means' in the baby book. You could meet someone named Angel who really isn't, but Agnis could be an angel to someone! Does that make sense??

That is such a nice name. Especially if it was your grandmas name. It just makes it more special. We named our daughter after my grandma and it isn't very common so in her class, she is the only one. Agnis is unique and traditional. Congradulations and good luck.

If you love it that's all that matters. I don't but it isn't my baby. I would give it as a second name and something less uncommon and a little less old fashioned as a first name. There's a reason why the name went out of style 60-70 years ago but that's just my opinion.

I think it sounds like an old name. Like Stella or Mildred. But it would be a nice way to honor your grandmother. Maybe it could be used as a middle name. Or what is your grandmother's middle , last , or even her madien name? Good luck and congrats!

To be honest, I don't like it. I know the name Agnes used to be popular many years ago, but it's one of the few names that did'nt have a revival. But it's your choice,at the end of the day....did grandma like her name ?

Not my favorite- but old fashioned names are making a come back. At least you aren't naming her after a fruit like Gwenyth Paltrow and her daughter Apple. If you like it go for it. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Hope all goes perfectly with your new baby.
