Lobbyists buy our politicians with gifts, campaign finances and party donations.
They should be outlawed, but no politician will do so as that will stop the money flow.
Politicians do not do the will of the people, but the will of big business who are armed with the big bucks.

Lobbyists are too popular by rich people to eliminate.

In addition to campaign contributions to elected officials and candidates, companies, labor unions, and other organizations spend billions of dollars each year to lobby Congress and federal agencies. Some special interests retain lobbying firms, many of them located along Washington's legendary K Street; others have lobbyists working in-house. We've got totals spent on lobbying, beginning in 1998, for everyone from AAI Corp. to Zurich Financial.

Impractical lobbyists dint just represent rich people internets, they represent Labor Unions, Nonprofits that promote good social causes at times. Yes, some lobby's have diabolical purposes but that the price we pay for living in a democracy. Lobby provide info to politicians about issues in their home district and help inform the congress person of that district what that vote means for the local population. Jobs, Trades, roads, medicare and Medicaid funds are what lobby groups inform politicians about inform them on what the it means for the local population. 90% of local politicians will balance what you say, and what the lobby says. Its too simplistic to eliminate lobbyists.

lobbyist provide info to politicians, while the info is biased nobody else is offering info to them. If you dont like how much influence a lobbyist has vote for more indpendent (people not partys) minded politicians. besides legitimizing lobbyist keeps the relationship visible and legitimate.

You don't have to eliminate the lobbyist. Just make it illegal for legislators and their families from accepting so much as a cup of coffee from them. No more junkets and vacations,. lush dinners, hush hush campaign contributions. Relegate them to a position of just providing information not buying preferential treatment

GREAT idea, but (there's always a but) it will never happen unless "we the people" stand up and demand change from our elected "leaders." WE must remind the polititions that they work for us not special interests.

I agree. They use money to put their "friends" in office to bend the rules in their favor. It will never go away because money always overpowers everything.
