Go to Yahoo Games and click on "web" you can play all sorts of games and all sorts of versions.

*cough* *cough* The only notable non-download MMORPG is Runescape.com.

Otherwise pet games like Neopets and Powerpets.

If I remember closely, Battleon.com and its sister game Dragon Fable had a Player vs Player system, but most of the time it's only a single player game.
