I'm bisexual as well, and I've given the topic a lot of thought. It's very in-vogue right now to insist that "everyone's a little bit bisexual". I've even fallen into the trap of promoting it, because I'd like it to be true. In some sense, both gays and straights can understand one another because they get 'monosexuality'- but neither can really, truly understand attraction to both sexes. What bisexuals feel seems so natural that we expect everyone else to be the same, or else to be lying to themselves, feeling pressure to choose, etc., etc.. We proclaim "Kinsey scale!" and practically deny the 7's and 0's as not being truthful. But this viewpoint is just as oppressive as believing that bisexuals are lying to themselves. People are gay. People are straight. People are bisexual. People are omni/pansexual. People don't care. That's how it works. Also, there are MANY people who continue to stick by their labels even while openly admitting attraction to those not in their lable, like lesbians who are bisexual, but choose to be lesbians because it is their primary attraction, or for political reasons, or to avoid stigmas attached to other labels. So I think it is very possible for straight people to find attraction to their same sex, or gay people to find attraction in the opposite sex. Sometimes they might even act on it without changing their label. What is key to understand, though, is that there are many people without this impulse, completely, and they aren't being self-repressive or kidding themselves, it's just them.

I am a straight woman and really do not get turned on by women at all. Whatever good they look or nice they are. I even tried with a former boyfriend who wanted to do with 2 girls. It was just no fun although the other girl was very pretty. Naaahhh...since then I know that there is not a little bit bi or lesbian in me.
But also I do not have a lot of girl friends I mostly was hanging out with boys already as a child and found other girls and women and their interest extremely boring. So until today most of my friends are men.
Maybe something is wrong with me?

According to sex researcher Alfred Kinsey the vast majority of people are some degree of bi. The scale runs from 0=physically incapable of responding to the same sex to 7=same thing toward opposite sex. The vast majority of people, close to 99%, actually fall in the 1-6 range, from very strong preference for opposite sex, but some capacity to respond under extra-ordinary circumstances, a man in prison for example, being a 1, to the gay equivalent, a 6. In practical terms, 1-2=straight, 3-4=bi, 5-6=gay. As a result of social conditioning many people in the 1-2 and 5-6 range insist on claiming to be 0 or 7, that is why you have such outspoken denial that anything else exists on this forum. Trouble is humans are too complex for things to be that black and white, shades of gray are the nature of reality.

I don't have the answer to this question, but I have seen women who are repulsed by lesbians as well as men who are uncomfortable with gay men. What I have seen is the women who do not like to see lesbians seem to take a moral high ground (believing it is immoral or wrong for two women to be together), and the men who are uncomfortable with gay men seem more threatened about their own sexuality (and I would assume this means they fear their own potential feelings). This is, of course, my observation and has no basis in scientific fact. I think this was an EXCELLENT question, and I think someone should do some research.

I see it the same way. Girls are so hot and they have so beautiful features, and some guys turn me on too. Lol. I guess I'm bi, and I think human beings both men and women are beautiful and why not like them both. I red somewhere that we are all bisexual just that most people have sexual prefernece to one sex, usualy the opposite. I personally don't have a preference, love girls and guys!! Well, I'm more into girls. Lol

I'm straight and when I see a sexy girl I just compare her assets with mine. Or I just say oh look she's hot but I don't really get turned on nor do I fantasize about having her in my bed !!

I am straight and yes I think that alot of girls are attractive but to say that I want to have a sexual relationship with them or that they turn me on is a completely different story.

Admiring beauty doesnt mean there are sexual desires; however, sexual desires often transpire from the beauty of a man or woman, regardless of whether we act on them or not. Admiration is also a process of self reflection and inspiration.

I find other women attractive, but not sexually. I think women have an appreciation for another woman's beauty. I'm not sure about men though...I know my husband doesn't look at men that way.

I'm a lesbian. And while I'll admit there are beautiful men in the world, they just don't turn me on.

Stop shouting.
