Please get a pair of rabbits. They do not like being alone no more than we do. Make sure you go to a rescue who will have vet checked, neutered and vaccinated your rabbits before you get them. Have a hutch 5' x 2' and a run 6' x 3. Line the bottom of the hutch with lino, as this helps when cleaning. Put a layer of paper and straw in it, and a litter tray with paper and hay. A hay rack and a water bottle is also needed. They need 24 hr supply of hay and water. Excel pellets for breakfast. enough to cover the bottom of the bowl and fresh veg at night, NO lettuce, it makes them sleepy and slows the gut. Broccoli, carrots, apples, greens are all OK. Rabbits can't vomit so make sure they are weeing and pooing OK and there aren't many caocotrophs, they eat this nutritious poo and should mainly only see round firm poo. A male will be neutered at around 3 months, and a female at 6 months. Both get very aggressive if not neutered as well as not being handled a lot. Toys, such as a loo roll stuffed with hay, boxes for them to jump on and nibble, a bunch of keys etc make good toys. Clean out the tray every day and the hutch twice a week. Check their bottoms in warm/hot weather for fly strike, maggots that eat into the skin, but most of all enjoy them! Good luck.

Hi i have had many rabbits which i have taken in when people get fed up of looking after them so please make sure you are willing to give them plenty of time and attention. Does are usually more placid but there is no guarantee BUT they do like company if you dont want two rabbits you can always get a guinea pig to go with it i used to take them in as well. Good luck and i hope your bunny gives you lots of pleasure

Females, the males can get more aggressive and have more of an odor...unless you plan on getting it fixed, then it probably doesn't matter.

if it's just going to be a pet and your not going to breed it, I would pick a Doe over a Buck. Calmer and don't have that testosterone turning them into "Night of the lipids" !!
