I know the interior from a Cavalier will fit perfectly into a Cimarron, but what about the doors or the fenders. Will I need to cut something off, drill new holes, or "finese" them into place?

Nope. Sheetmetal is the same -- bumper covers were different as were exterior moldings, taillamps and grille..

it may work but most of the time GM will bass four or more cars on the same plat form and just change the interior and the body panels. So basically the answer is no. I mean look at the Camro and the firer bird or the Chevy Lumina and the Pontiac grand prix they are both the same car but with different body panels and interior.
