biochemistry.
Get at least a minor in psych or sociology. Med schools and hospitals are looking for candidates well versed in how to deal with patients and care, as well as cope with dying and death, angry or frantic relatives, etc. Psych and sociology give a med student a better backing into these subjects, rather than just straight out bio and treating people. Somehow, do both, dual major or minor or something.
Chem. engineerings good if you intend to go into the chemical or pharmaceuticals industries, depending on your coursework, concentration, research, etc. Also depends on what university you go to, how bio oriented you can get with chem e. Biomedical engineering is always an option depending where you go too.

One of my friends from high school became a biochemist. He says that an actual Pre-Med major is best for future General Practitioners, biochemistry is best for specialists (particulary internal medicine), and chemical engineering is best for future pharmaceutical researchers.
