This government under this President Bush has not given us the truth about this war, since day one of this war. It has all been what they had called, "spin", which means propaganda. The same "spin' that Adolf Hitler convinced the German people that killing Jews was okay and would not be killing any human beings in the process. That is the "truth" about this Iraq war, if we do not believe the "spin" we are unpatriotic or unamerican and for the terrorists of 9/11.

The war is still going because the threat and enemy still have not surrendered and probably never will since they are not a conventional army that wears a uniform of a country.
Oil is a world commodity and to think the we are just there because of oil is ridiculous. That would mean the entire world is on the Bush scam. It took the US 7 years to get Germany back up and running after WWII and Japan took 9 years. This was after the fighting stopped. All you hear is the negative regarding the war because the news is predominately liberal.

Power

Both really.

It's money.

War means big business for the likes of Honeywell..Boeing...and many many more.

Think about it, the more war..the more $$$ flowing...and if North Korea happens to turn into a huge conflict...many people will gain...while most of the ordinary will die.

The Lib memory span is so short. Don't you remember 9-11 or the other terror attacks from the decades before that led to 9-11?
I live in NY & I remember.

Its cause they want to divide Iraq on sectarian lines and then leave because they know that if it is divided then they can dominate it without having the army there.

They're there in Afghanistan because they are building the gas pipeline.

I can't believe this moron (bush) is using our great nation to make money for his rich buddies.

Our country once stood as a country which fought against oppression but now America is the one which is bullying.

Fundamentalism is the key. Terrorism is a byproduct that keeps the war churning.

Al-Qaida has been recruiting prisoners for years in middle eastern prisons by taking known felons into its ranks, teaching them in jail to destroy the intruders, and then requesting release of the felons to fight for the jihad in Iraq. The sad thing is, most of the felons feel they have no other choice to stay alive. Housing is usually an open area in 120 degree heat. Prisons in the middle east are known for not feeding prisoners, but requiring instead families or friends bring them food. Many times this gives the Fundamentalist priests a chance to encourage growth in the beliefs against western influance and in the end a feeling of debt to the priests by the prisoners. For a prisoner to be pardoned all they need to do is learn the Quran word by word and wait for Ramadan. Or there are several other ways, such as have an influential Imam request pardon with exile. Its Ramadan season right now, ask yourself how many exiles does it take to increase the number of troops killed in the last month?

This is just one type of method used to recruit. Another type is by visiting areas that are in depression, like Darfur, and offering to place a young man into service, and pay the family several hundred dollars a week. That would equate to several years worth of pay for the young man quickly. One problem with this is the families rarely see the money later on.The man is transported to Iraq, drugged, and kept that way until they want to use him as a human bomb.

And please dont get me wrong, not all the fighters are duped into doing this. Recently the group was found recruiting Hackers and technical experts in the UAE in a newspaper. They are using communications experts to hack communications signals using french made equipment, with a russian website explaining how. They have also been known to track movements of U.S. Troops because of personal equipment brought in by the ground toops that gave off tracking beacons (GPS Devices). The actual help given to the troop by his family for fighting the war put the troop in danger.

They also incorporate learning strategies into past failures to accomplish what they are trying to do. For instance, they at one point were packing explosives to the certain points in a vehicle and just exploding them. They have done it so many times now though they understand by changing the positions they can actually deflect damage to a certain area and lower/raise casualties based on what they want to do.

This isnt even the scary part. I have personally seen parents that sent their kids to approach U.S. checkpoints with grenades or explosives because we are known to be soft against kids. If the guard did shoot the kid, he had to live with it. If he didnt, he died with his buddy. Same old thing as vietnam.

Basically put, they are whittling away at the U.S. populations psychological agreement with the war. If they fight long enough, they think they can get us to leave and they can have a new platform to stand and fight from.

The sad thing is, the population isnt getting educated on whats really happening. We let the local news medias dictate what we see, which is usually destruction. Ask yourself this, how many times have you seen a school built by Al-qaida in Iraq? Now think about the fact that we have U.S. personnel specifically there to do that. But I guess that wouldnt be important to show on the news would it? Or another line of thinking. Did you know merchants in Iraq have been creating Neighborhood watches based off the U.S. idea? While I was there a group actually killed off some local insurgents that were forcing payoffs from the merchants to fund fighting. Did you see that on the news?

A sad part about the truth is that we see what we want to see. If you want the truth, go to iraq and get it. If you cant go that far, check websites on the internet for alternate points of view before believing we are just there for the oil. And I dont mean just websites on the mainstream. Check anything you can. Translate it to english if you have to and then ask yourself what its all about.

But I would recommend to all of you that have read this, dont vote to stop the war until the Iraqi people have a true government. And dont be disillusioned, it may take 20 years or more to do it.

Also, dont get me wrong, I live in the middle east and I believe that Muslims as a whole are good people. Islam isnt the problem, its the fundamentalist groups taking the bad apples, and preying on the weak to do thier dirty work. And if you let these people do it in Iraq, they will be knocking on your door like a Jehovah's witness in just a few years.

Think about it.
