Engineers make a lot of money, $40,000 to around $70,000 starting salary per year, depending on what type of engineer you are and what part of the country you live in. Chemical Engineers make the most. Look on any engineering school's website to find out this information...like www.umr.edu. Engineers do work long hours, but nothing compared to a doctor or something like that, so the pay and benefits (including travel opportunities) are worth it.

Depends on what sort of engineer. There are dozens of different ones. I am a manufacturing engineer working on the shop floor and make about £23k for working 37 hours plus some overtime and the occasional call-out for plant breakdowns. To be honest, manufacturing engineering is not a career that i would recommend. Most of us feel undervalued and underpaid. Talk to a career adviser. good luck

Engineers make a lot of money. They are different types of engineers they made more money than others. The hours are like from 7: 30am to 4:30pm. or 8am to 5pm. I would go a search enginee and type an engineers or check with your college/university career center. They have a lot of information.

There are so many disciplines within the field of engineering, your answers will vary widely. I think the ballpark estimate of starting salary ranging from 40-80K is pretty accurate. The hours depend on your company, and your job could range from building things to programming stuff to drafting/drawing/consulting etc etc.
