how can i download clips onto Windows Movie Maker?

okay, i joined YouTube and I wanna try and make movies. but, say i want clips from a tv show or a movie, where do i get them? is there a website i can go to? or is there a search engine on the movie maker?

i think you just have to download it to your computer and then open it in movie maker

I don't know if this is legal, but search www.download.com for a dvd or avi ripper i did it once
