when considereing ganymede as a whole, is it more heavily, less heavily or similarly cratered as Callisto.

Callisto is definitely more cratered than Ganymede, just look at the pictures of each.

I would say that Callisto is more heavily cratered simply because Callisto is famous for being one of the most beaten and battered objects in our solar system.

Ganymede is definitely pock marked but has more features which would yield a less cratered surface.
