It seems like every time I paint my nails they start chipping almost immediately. Like I painted them last night and half the enamel is gone already. Any tips on ways to make it stay longer??

Put on a clear coat before and after painting your nails. I recommend Sally Hansen Base and Top Coat Nail Treatment. Make sure to let each coat dry before applying more. You can put a new coat on everyday and make your polish lasts at least a week. Also, if all else fails, just retouch them with your polish every other day. Before painting your nails file them and buff them. That will make the color stay slightly longer too.

Are you washing your hand properly to remove all traces of nail polish remover?

You need to treat your cuticles at night and use a good hand lotion as a prelude to prevent dry and brittle nails.

Make sure you use an undercoat and allow it to dry properly and then apply your nail polish sparingly (2 coats will do), allow a couple of minutes and then apply a quality overcoat like Sally Hansen's overcoat for problem nails. The next day, apply another layer of overcoat and let dry thoroughly. If that fails, then clearly you need to treat your nails for a few weeks and see what happens.

Use a top of the line top coat. My daughter does my nails and the polish grows out rather than chipping.

1. Don't buy cheap nail polish. Get it from a beauty supply store.
2. Use a top and bottom clear coat.
