Fell down the stairs; fell, just walking across the room; has always been clumsy, but this is different. Have a doctor appointment scheduled, but thought I'd see if anyone has ever seen something like this.

Could be an inner ear infection. Normally they don't hurt but can dramatically affect a person's sense of balance. Go to an ENT Doctor. Ears, Nose & Throat. Could actually be something wrong that needs fixing. If she falls and hits her head you could have a very serious problem. Don't wait, go to a walk in clinic if you have to.

Assuming you talk to your daughter about drugs and she doesn't smell like MJ or alcohol..acouple of things. Most common would be an inner ear infection which could cause dizziness and loss of balance. If headaches and episodes of staring are also in the picture, then some seizure disorder could also be happening. Falling down stairs is a bit serious, make sure the doc hears about that one. If she is just plain passing out...well the most common cause there in a teen is lack of food!

I think all these responses are correct. I think now ,the best thing would be to have her seen by a doctor so if it is "something" it will be caught early rather than later.

I hate to say this but marijuana makes you dizzy and you can't guess direction. Maybe she has an ear infection too. Or she is tired, as she been staying up late

If she doesn't reek of weed, smell like a brewery, and is not the taste tester at the Wild Turkey Distillery, she must be high on prescription drugs.

well seeing as you are asking for parenting advice on yahoo, the other answers all sound possible (drugs, alcohol, pregnancy) but she is probably just growing, as teenagers do and trying to get used to it.
