Here's how you can figure out the right size for you: put it onder your chin and see you far your hand will reach. If your hand will go easily around the scroll at the end, you're fine. Bigger violins have bigger tone, but you know if you can't reach the end of the fingerboard, you're not going to be able to play songs at all.
