The reason it's potentially dangerous to be exposed to x-rays is that they can mutate DNA, possibly causing cancer and reproductive problems.

If your daughter passed through the x-ray machine, she has been exposed to some of this radiation, I'm sure.

However, people get radiation in the everyday environment and our bodies have the ability to fight this off to some degree.

It probably won't harm her too much if this only happened once. But you should avoid unnecessary exposure.

Are you talking about the ones that x-ray baggage or are you talking about the one used to scan personal items?

You will have to find out how strong the x-rays were. Only the airport security or the people who set up the machines would probably know. I would think they are pretty low in power. There is too many people around to have them set to a very high power. Pops

I apologize, and I will NEVER criticize someone for less than elegant grammar - however, how can we possibly give any kind of answer when the question is so totally incoherent? I try and try to extrapolate some sense from what I read, but it's just too damn hard. This is why I haven't been on "answers" for awhile.

I am sorry to hear that your daughter has passed, however I doubt that it had anything to do with the xray machine at the airport.

I doubt it would really have much radiation. Even then today's X-Ray Machines are pretty well sealed to prevent radiation leakage. I imagine to get anywhere near a lethal dose she would need to have been exposed to it for several hours a day for years.

It could be dangerous. How does that accidentally happen? You and security should be paying attention. Not much you can do about it though. Once exposed, it's over, you can't undo x-ray exposure.
