Hi Liz.. I think a good way to see about this theory would be to maybe post a list of random names on yahoo answers common names, uncommon names, and names that are common in certain countries and ask people the first thing that pops into thier head when they see that name??? could be interesting...

human beings already have preconceived notions approximately others and having an oddly spelled or suggested call can impact that. there became a study carried out the place quite a few resumes that have been precisely alike have been sent out. the only difference became the call, some have been simple names like Amanda and Frank others have been unusual like Toykeisha and J'davionna. for advantageous...Amanda and Frank have been given greater call backs.

i wish i could find the article i read about this, but i did read one a while back that said that they affect our personalities because they affect how other people treat us.
So being named Rocky might not make you act butch, but people will treat you like you are because they name makes them think you are, thus affecting your own perception of yourself.
(i hope that makes any sort of sense)

I think that a persons name does not necessarily have an affect on who they are, however there are certain names that really fit certain personalities. And there are people who I know who's names do not fit their personality.
