Your question is confusing. The Counter cards are those that can negate and/or destroy specific cards. Like any other trap cards, you have to set it face-down in order to activate a Trap during you opponent's turn or when your next turn begins. I think you mean those Alien cards (available since Power of the Duelist). There are no A-Counter cards (but there were Sheep Token cards for Scapegoat handed out ont the TCG's mall tours, check the website), a monster card becomes an A-Counter card when you place an A-Counter Token on the selected monster.

If you mean a counter like you put on the card to activate its special ability, its not actually a card. You can put tokens on the card to keep track of how many there are on the card. Some times they stay on the card to power it up, or somtimes they are sacrificed to activate an abillity.

a counter card is something like magic jammer or mystical space typhon.
or if you just dont know what a counter card is it just a card that basicaly turnes he table on the other player.
or it just puts you in control of the game for the moment.

I can't believe I know this, but my nephew is a yu gi oh freak... A counter is not a card, it is a token - my nephew uses pennies as his tokens, when the card is attacked the counter is destroyed instead of the card.

a card that you use to stop a magic or trap attack, or it can stop any other attack, but they are usualy trap cards that you flip over to stop someones attack against you during thier attack.
