It can be tension, causing him to withdraw his penis deep into his sheath. This leaves a sort of open hollow space in the sheath, so as his legs swing it makes a phhhhhbt sound. It's most likely at the trot. If you have any male siblings who like to make a rude sound under their armpits it's much the same sort of mechanism!
It can also be an indicator that the sheath needs cleaning or it could be an indicator that the horse is tense for some reason. If it only happens when you're posting, there may be something you're doing which is causing him to tense. If you're sitting hard or rising from the stirrups, that might be enough to make him unfomfortable enough to go tense.
I think it is just a noise that I don't even realize anymore!

it can be air and it can also be dirt. When the male horse drops to pee, it can gather dirt and dust. He can also get dirt from every dday activities like laying down. then when he is moving at anything faster than a walk, particularly a trot, the penis moves around inside of the sheath, rubbing against the dirt, making that squeaking sound. All it takes is a simple cleaning. If you do not know how to do it or your horse will not let you, then your vet can do it.

It's the typical boy noise. It is caused by the penis moving back and forth in the sheath. Sometimes you can get rid of it by doing a thorough cleaning of the sheath. Warm water and Ivory or Excalibur Sheath Cleaner helps. They can also develop a "bean" if not cleaned regularly. Some do and some don't.
Sometimes cleaning helps with the noise and sometimes you just have to deal with it.
Hope this helps.

It's air trapped in the sheath moving around. I don't know how to explain it any more PG than that!
Edit to add:
When a male horse is moving, the penis is retracted up inside the body in an area called the sheath. Air can be trapped inside this area, and as he moves, the air moving around the penis makes noise, kind of like when you pop your knuckles. It's usually a rhythmic creaking noise. Hope that helps.

Ok.. as "pg" as i can be................. could it be passing gas ? I've heard horses do that, as they are trotting, galloping. If not 'gas'.... could a shoe be 'fitted wrong' .. causing the "squeeking" noise? Might want to double check the shoes, just to be sure. ( and the saddle, and everything else ).
