My Chem is great live; I saw them not last summer, but the summer before at Warped Tour and almost died twice [people fell on me and knocked me down :D] The second time I did, a lot of us fell at the same time and Gerard actually stopped in the middle of "I'm Not Okay" to ask every one to pick someone up. He said that he didn't want to see anyone get hurt [I love bands that care about their fans!], and the boy that picked me up gave me a hug and asked if I was alright. That was an excellent concert. :D
I saw Fall Out Boy and AAR that same day at Warped Tour... They both play really well live; they sound a bit different than they do on their cds, but that a good thing. There's so much more energy in a live performance. The guys in Fall Out Boy dedicated a song to their dads because it was Father's Day then, and Tyson Ritter complained about 14 year old girls asking him to sign condoms that Trojan was handing out. That concert was actually about a month before Move Along came out, so we were some of the first people to hear "Dirty Little Secret" and the other songs from the cd.
I saw Panic! and 30 Seconds to Mars at Summerfest this year, and JARED LETO IS SO VERY INCREDIBLE. His energy is second only to Frank Iero. The crowd at their concert kind of sucked because all of the twelve year old TRL fans [Don't be offended if you're twelve or a fan of TRL; I'm just annoyed because it seems that these girls only like P!atD because "omigosh, there so hott in taht vid 4 sins something something i totaly luv there music"] packed into the front row seven hours early, so those of us who wanted to see the earlier acts were shoved back. They wouldn't even dance for The Hush Sound. NO ONE can not dance for The Hush Sound.
Anyways, 30 Seconds to Mars was INCREDIBLE. Lots of screaming, awesome instrumentals, double mosh pits, and Jared even stuck his mic in his pants during an interlude and climbed up the scaffolding on the side of the stage. He sang a verse or two up there before sticking the mic back into his pants and climbing back down. AND THEN HE SIGNED MY PURSE AFTER THE CONCERT. *swoons* I bring that purse everywhere. I never let it go. ;D
Panic! played a couple of sets later, and my friends and I stood across a little courtyard to the side of the stage because it was SO packed in there that you literally couldn't breathe. The singing was alright. It wasn't like on the album, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it was on the VMAS. That was probably just nerves. They had some cool dancers, and some clowns, I think, and they played ALL of the songs on their albums because everyone got nice long sets. It made me really sad, though, to be there with the aforementioned TRL crowd. My friends and I have loved Panic! at the Disco since last winter, and we had every song on the album memorized long before any videos came out. About 90 percent of the people there [or more] only knew "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" and "But It's Better if You Do". We screamed all of the lyrics at the top of our lungs to try to fill the void. :D
I'm going to see AAR [again] along with Motion City Soundtrack [again], and Gym Class Heroes [for the first time!] this December. I CAN'T WAIT.
