I am 36 weeks preggo and have called the doctor's office, just waiting for a return call. I have been having flu symptoms for about 3 days, nausea, headache( with no fever though ), achey muscles in my back and legs and very tired. Last night I started getting menstrual type cramps, they come and go about 3 every hour. They are staying consistent, not getting worse. Just wondering what you good people think while I wait for a call back.

I'm thinking stomach flu. It doesn't sound to me like labor. I know when I had my son, I had horrible back contractions and my water broke in the grocery store. Good luck and congrats!

Some women gets nauseaed in the 3rd trimester, when the hormones are gearing up. That is normal. Those cramps are contractions. If you get 4 or more, you should go into Labor & Delivery to get checked to be sure. Although you are at 36 weeks, so it's normal to have them.

i asked my ob a question similar to this today, i am 34 weeks and have been having pains. she told me if i have 4 pains an hour to go to the hospital. since i am 34 weeks they would try to stop it unless my water broke. at 36 weeks they will allow me to have the baby. i think you very well could be in early labor. make sure you are getting plenty of fluids, as this could bring on early labor too.
good luck

It sounds to me like you're in early labor--because of your menstraul type cramps. Your nausea could definitely be from going into labor. (When I was in labor, I threw up twice.) According to my nurse, it's just something that happends when you're in labor. Since you're still 4 weeks out, your body may be just getting ready... but check with your DR because it sounds like you may go sooner than later.

Hang in there!
