Uploading is the act of sending a file FROM your computer to someplace else, usually the internet or another computer. Downloading is bringing a file TO your computer from another source.

Which you are performing depends on whether you are sending or receiving the file.

upload is to copy of move programs or information to a large computer system or to the internet. Download is the same action but FROM ... the contrary

When you are uploading something, you are moving it FROM your computer to another medium (like the internet). When you are downloading, you are moving it from the intenet (for example) to your computer. The thing that determines which one you are doing is whether the object you are transferring is coming or going.

I'm not really sure of which one i'm using, but i do know the answer to the other question.

Upload- to transfer (data or programs) usually from a peripheral computer or device to a central computer, often from a remote computer.

Download- to transfer(data or programs) from a server or host computer to one's own computer or device.

"downloading" is when you get a file from someone else so you can use it.
"Uploading"is ,when you let someone copy a file from your computer.With other words- they are uploading from you
and downloading it on their computer

in yahoo pictures you can upload to your album downloading is when i down load my pics from my camera to my computer.
