It requires a sense of shame and conviction either from the individual or from their peers to bring forth contrition both of which Liberals lack.
When you have no moral compass whatsoever why should you ever repent and take one for the team when the team is just as degenerate as you.
I'm glad you brought this up because I hope that voters realize this difference come November.
Both Parties have rejects, however only one has the moral fortitude to police their own and hold them accountable.
Why is that? I would say it is due to the core messages of the Parties. Conservatism is grounded in Family Values whereas Liberalism is grounded in Paganism and Humanism, a philosophy which refuses to accept the effect an individuals actions have on others.

I wasn't aware that Bill Frist had resigned over the Federal Investigation of insider stock trading..

Or that Dennis Hastert had resigned for lying about what he knew regarding a PEDOPHILE in the United States Congress..

Or that Conrad Burns had resigned after being found guilty of his illegal dealings with Jack Abramoff...

Or that Rep. Jim Kolbe had resigned for keeping Foley's e-mails from Rep. Dale Kildee; also on page board.

Or that Curt Weldon had resigned following an FBI investigation into illegally steering millions upon millions to his daughter's business.

Huh. I didn't know that these Republicans and all of the others currently being investigated had all resigned. Silly me.

Oh and BTW ---- William Jefferson was asked to step down immediately after his problems came to light. He is receiving ZERO support from the Democratic Congressional members --- NONE!

Can't say the same for the Congressman Bush is campaigning for today that cheated on his wife with a young woman the past 5 years.. or the man he'll be campaigning for this evening who made RACIAL comments ... and who (until the press asked him about it) had a Confederate flag and a ****NOOSE**** above his desk !!!!

The media regularly protects Dems by not publicizing their errors/scandals in the same way that they obsess over Republican scandals.

The liberal media was silent about Clinton UNTIL Matt Drudge broke the story.

They obsessed over Trent Lott's silly (and hardly racist) comment, but were virtually silent over Chris Dodd's worse comments a few weeks later!

The double standard is MASSIVE.

Franks never did anything illegal, the republican caught in the same scandal as Studds didn't resign either, Kennedy was never convicted of anything and Clinton was acquitted.
