Each coil goes to two cylinders. The coil just fires both cylinders every 360 degrees to avoid the need for a distributor or more coils. You waste a spark at the top of the exaust stroke that way, but it doesn't hurt anything.

Unless you can do this on your own,maybe you should think of getting into something different.If you are not motivated enough to do the test, what can you hope to gain?
