...they only spent one day of their life in Canada, should they be eligible to be US President?

in that case my understanding that you have dual citizenship with USA and Canada and then you choose when you're like 12 or 18 or something what country you want to be an official citizen of. i don't know about PRESIDENCY public office of some sort prob wouldn't have a prob with that if you did choose the USA, but the presidency IS a pretty big deal...you'd get a lot of **** for being born in Canada if you did run. I'm sure with a nice law suit and a good lawyer you could get whatever you wanted, lol....

Yes, because that person is not a Canadian, but an American. It states in American bylaws that you are an American as long as you are born to two American citizens, no matter where the birth took place geographically.

I believe they'd have dual citizenship: American and Canadian. Since they'd still have American citizenship, they should be able to become President.
