I mean, I am 29 years old and I remember this movie, too. You do not have to be over 40 to enjoy movies or songs from the 70's!In fact, in my C.D. player right now there is a 70's disco C.D. You know Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love", "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing", by Leo Sayer, etc. I think you get my point.
As for them bringing 'Thank God It's Friday', I think that would be great! Maybe make it a Made-for-t.v. movie with the original cast. Make it about the son or daughter of said nightclub-or it's original owner-who is retiring and feels depressed about it. So, the kids make a great retirement party featuring all the stars from the glory days of Disco. Donna can come back, the Commadores can get back together and other performers-even those who weren't in the movie!
Since I enjoy "old" movies(two of my favorite movies just happens to be "Bullit" with Steve McQueen and "The Godfather", 1&2 with Al Pacino, Robert DuVall, James Caan....), this would be great if they did this! Not in theaters because no one would care, but, a Made-for-t.v. event would suit me just fine!

I never saw the first one. At that time I was into Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, and Black Sabbath. I just couldn't get into disco then and I'm not nostalgic for it now.

For one thing, you don't have to be over 40 to love this move and for another, a sequel isn't needed. It would just screw up the movie...
