Keep her away from Hot Topic and tell her to lay off the black eyeliner and red lipstick. Get her shopping in stores like American Eagle, The Gap, Buckle, etc. and keep her makeup neutral and clean. Maybe get her involved in some school activities like the debate club so she can connect with other preppy people. Sounds like a waste of time for someone to change herself for a boy, but good luck to her, I guess.

A girl should change for herself, not anyone else, but here goes. Goth is not a pretty look, nor does it work well in the real world beyond school. So in this case, change is good. Prep can be cute. I have seen little wool skirts in thrift stores. Warm wool tights (like a sweater) can be found in ballet or dance stores. Boots or black shoes, classic white long sleeved top with a sweater vest (also at thrift stores) for the cold times. She should take up a sport (preps are athletic) and look for the healthy glow look in makeup. NO black eyeliner. Maybe a little powder, pink blush, mascara, and lipgloss. Hair in a ponytail or straight, in a natural looking color. Perky attitude, meaning happy and excited about life. Smart. Add some cute reading glasses. Study, get good grades, pick a college, stay busy. Don't smoke or drink much. Hope this helps!

I won't say, "Don't become a prep." A person can do whatever they want to if that's what they want to do. Really, though, your friend shouldn't become a prep just because that's what a boy will like. There are probably better boys that would work better with your friend anyway.
You could probably just shop at AE and A&F and Hollister, etc. and get some cute clothes. Wear some makeup. Highlight your hair. Get cute jewelry. Giggle a lot. Basically, imitate all of the other preppy girls at school.

Tell your friend to be herself. I mean mabey in the future she'll like someone else, who likes her the way she is.
Well her are some prep. tips though:
1. luv pink
2. shop at abercrombie, hollister, american eagle, and aeropostale, or limited too.
3.act girly, and don't put too much eyeliner, mascara is better. don't put 2 much makeup on either.
4. act nice and sweet, and caring. BE EASY TO TALK TO! Don't over react though.
5. try not to make too big of a difference.

Woah. I hate labels. 3. Not cool. But, I guess I could give pointers on looking girly-er?
First off, layers. If you layer a lace cami over a tank top, it looks casual, but with a hint of glam.
You could try less eyeliner (if she wears a lot?), and try curling her lashes and applying mascara in the proper shade. Blonde's usually can go for brown, while Brunette's like Brown/Black.
Colour is also a good start. A lot fo the 'alternative' people at my school wear black and jean. Why not try greens, blues, and purples? You don't need to go right to pink.
Try to make a gradual change in appearance. Most of my friends tend to wonder when one of us suddenly dresses or acts totally unlike their normal selves. It just seems fake. Gradual transition between styles is best.
... Finally, and please don't blast me for this, but why would she want a guy who only wants her for her looks? That's disaster, if you ask me.

Tell her she needs to be herself! Then, take her shopping, go to "prep" stores, (hollister, abercrombie, even JcPenny) and get her some clothes. But dont drastically turn into a prep (your friend) people might think she's a poser.

go buy clothes abercrobie, hollister:) aeropostal, wet seal :) body central, and lots of shirts that you can layer:) shirts with those thick stripes, and do some pretty make-up, like eyeliner, light pink lipgloss, and maybe some eyeshadow. get a cute hairdo, and dont forget some cool jewlery! but dont change instanly, cause ppl might say oh she's a "poser"blah blah blah! lol, but seriously, dress how she usually does and slowly change the way she dresses and looks, not over night
good-luck :) â¥
