My 4Runner shakes , shimmeys and vibrates when Im driving between 55 and 60mph. If I go slower then 55 or faster then 60 it stops. Had new tires and shocks, steering stablizier, front end alignment and wheels balanced it's helped but it still does it enough to make it annoying!
Coulds it be ball joints, tie rods, or bad bushings?

Whilst the ball joints etc can allow extra movement and therefore vibration, the underlying cause is still either unbalanced or faulty tires. Any reputable mechanic would not perform an alignment on a front end with faulty ball joints, control arm bushes , tie rods or rack ends. Take the vehicle elsewhere to be worked on.

Try jacking up the front end of your car and then grab the tire and try to shake it. if the tire moves then yes you have problems with your ball joints or tie rods. As for the bushings (this isn't science) just spin the tire and listen for scrapeing or grinding sounds as well as watch to see if the tire like drags (you will know when you see it) Another thing is you may have new tires but they might not be balanced - even if they where balanced when you bought them a simple pot hole could cause a weight to be thrown.

Your biggest problem is you keep turning off the overdrive. Leave it on. The only time you should have the overdrive off is if your driving on very mountainous roads. You probably need a tuneup, and possibly your catalytic converter is plugged up and needs replaced. Might also need the O2 sensors replaced also. I'm guessing you have the V6 model? If so you should be averaging at least 14mpg city and low to mid 20's on the highway. Unless you drive like a bat out of hell. LOL.

You're on the right track. It could be all three of those. If those don't fix the problem, do you know the history of your car? I've had a car that was in a wreck with frame damage that caused the car to shake, hopefully it's one of the three things you mentioned.

It is a dynamic balance problem guaranteed. Your tires are not balanced correctly. Have someone balance the tires on a high speed computer balancer and it WILL go away.

What your 4runner needs is new set of wheel bearings, that's all.
