A lot of sources suggest that if the visor is scratched so much that it's creating an obstruction of your view, that the visor should be ditched....

I'm not really sure how well the so-called "scratch resistent visors" are, but hopefully others that have tried them will drop in.

I've read about "buffing out" scratches.. but if it were me.. I'd see if my local hockey shop had someone who had experience in doing it.

There is a product used for motorcycle visors that some hockey players have also used and if you can find it... I suppose it may be worth a try? It can be found here-

Hope others pop in with their own experiences! Mine is still in fairly good shape. Well... I can see out of it anyway.. ;o)

It is time to buy a new visor. You aren't going to get those scratches out and still have a visor that will be satisfactory for vision on the ice!!

There's nothing you can do for a scratch. If it's just where a puck or stick hit the shield and left a thick residue, you can clean it with visor cleaner. Otherwise, buy a new one.

What is a mirror visor? Buy a cage and get used to playing with it. Much less hassle.

Start with 1000 grit sandpaper.
Then go to 1200 grit
Then 1500
Then 2200 grit...

Now buff the hell out of it until it warms up and wipe away the filth.
